It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that I am leaving Cheezburger. It’s been an amazing run, but I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that it’s time for me to go my own way.
People, let me tell you: it’s been an amazing ride. I have learned, grown, laughed, cried, loved, and lost. I have worked with an amazing team and accomplished amazing things. It’s been one of the greatest adventures of my life.
I feel lucky to have been part of Cheezburger during the time I was there. I got to be a big part of doubling the size of the Engineering team while nurturing the growth of an open, honest, and productive culture. I was given the freedom to grow from a code-focused engineer to a manager and learned what that really means. We built a highly communicative, high-performance, close-knit, geographically-distributed team, and there’s only a few of those in existence that I know of.
I was part of something special. We weren’t just coworkers, we were family.
So to Scott Porad, the engineering team, the product team, the content team, and everyone else at Cheezburger, I want to give my sincerest thanks.
It’s been real, you guys. I’ll see you all in Cursortown.
PS- Da Bears 4 Lyfe
PPS- I don’t know what my next adventure is. If you’ve got ideas, let me know!
Curious what you’re up to next. I’ll likely be pinging you in the next X days or so with some ideas.
